COMPETITION Director

Nia King-Hachey is a long-time dance mom and dance photographer who has produced several musicals and orchestrated numerous community events, fundraisers and camps. Nia's attention to detail and her passion for everything she does will make our competitions organized, educational and FUN! Having run a successful business together in the past, Nia and Steve have what it takes to make Shooting Stars Dance Competitions your favourite competition for years to come!

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Steve Hachey is a dance dad, a dance fan and a computer and technology wizard. He always has a smile on his face and can solve any problem with his "can-do" attitude. He keeps dancers smiling and laughing with his "dad jokes" and antics backstage. Steve will be readily available to help with anything needed backstage. He wants to make sure everyone has a great time at SSDC!

The Master of Ceremonies

Marisa Hachey is an accomplished choreographer and Youth Theatre Director. She knows a lot about putting on a great show and working with young performers. She is a graduate from the University of Windsor, where she earned her degree in Drama in Education and Community. Marisa's proudest accomplishment is founding her non-profit youth theatre company, Vocally Inspired Performers in 2011. She has since directed its 10 musical including: Annie, Beauty and the Beast and Matilda. Marisa grew up doing theatre and feels that performance is one of the best learning tools. She loves to see the dancers perform, celebrate and grow at Shooting Stars and she can't wait to celebrate with the dancers at our fun, frequent adjudication sessions.

OUR ADJUDICATORS

Our talented adjudicators all have real, hands-on teaching experience with dancers of all ages. Many are accredited through the Professional Adjudicators Alliance. Our judges give fair and meaningful critiques to help the dancers grow. All of our adjudicators embrace the perform, celebrate, grow mission and bring that positivity to the dancers!

THE SSDC STAFF TEAM

Our friendly staff team can't wait to help make your SSDC experience memorable. From the greeters who will welcome you and lead you to the changing areas, to the sales table staff who will help you purchase your program and find your new favourite SSDC merch! We have a team of runners to help dancers and our own stage manager to ensure prop load-ins and backstage run smoothly. Find us in the purple shirts and we will help you learn why our staff are known as the most helpful staff team around.
